An  iconoclastic figure in the world of ocean paddle and surf sports, his achievements to date, have carved his name into the 'all-time' history books, as the, 'World's Best Ever Prone Paddleboarder', amassing an astonishing 10x consecutive World Title, Moloka`i to O`ahu Paddleboard Race wins. However, Jamie is very much more than a prone paddleboarder, being quite simply, one of the world's most accomplished and talented waterman ever.

Since entering the world of SUP, drawing on his outrigger canoeing skills, he has been both a Battle of the Paddle and ISA SUP Champion. Since 2002 he has dominated nearly every competition he has entered. As a big wave surfer, Jamie has been invited to some of the world’s most elite big wave riding events, including the Tow-in World Cup and the Mavericks Paddle-in contest. In 2007 Jamie was nominated in Billabong’s XXL Big Wave Awards, for a massive wave ridden at Todos Santos, Mexico.
Outside of competition, Jamie has earned membership into the notorious 30/20 Club, a brotherhood of elite watermen who have paddled 30 miles, or more, through open-ocean in addition to having ridden 20 foot waves in the traditional paddle-in method, unaided by a tow-in vehicle. For Jamie, the ocean is more than the blue area on a map or a weekend destination. To him, it is a way of life and an arena to embrace, explore and experience some of the greatest moments of his life.

Huge Thanks to Steve West who is one of the world's foremost ocean sports writers, educators and ocean sports participants, with a career spanned across some 40 years, as a professional windsurfer during some of its foremost pioneering days, some 20 years involvement with the sport of outrigger canoeing throughout the Pacific, as a writer, researcher and competitor and for the past 7 years a full time involvement with stand up paddle boarding.
